Sustainability in action

At Foundation, we are driven by a responsibility to create lasting value for our environment, colleagues, customers and communities. From greener lending and reducing our environmental impact, to building sustainable, efficient operations, our approach is designed to support long-term change. We foster an inclusive culture that empowers growth and wellbeing, while strengthening meaningful community partnerships. Everything we do is guided by doing the right thing. Because for us, making mortgages happen means creating a positive impact beyond lending itself.

"I’m incredibly proud to have helped establish our ESG programme and even prouder to see how far it has come. What began as a commitment to doing the right thing has grown into meaningful action across our business, driven by the passion and dedication of our colleagues. Together, we’re creating positive change for our customers, communities and the environment while making mortgages happen."

Our ESG Group Commitments

Environment

Lending Responsibly, Living Sustainably

We’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint and fostering more sustainable practices within the lending industry.

From improving energy efficiency and minimising waste to addressing climate risk through responsible lending, sustainability is built into everything we do.

We believe in the power of a greener future, and we’re actively working towards becoming carbon-neutral by 2029.

Because for us, making mortgages happen means supporting long-term environmental progress.

Our 2026 initiatives:

In 2026, we’re strengthening our focus on reducing environmental impact through practical, everyday action. From improving recycling to tackling food waste, we’re embedding more sustainable habits across our operations. These steps support responsible lending and help drive positive, long-term environmental progress across our business.

Colleagues

Empowering Growth, Embracing Diversity

We’re committed to creating a workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported and empowered.

We foster an inclusive culture that nurtures talent, promotes wellbeing and encourages growth. By embracing diverse perspectives and championing inclusive leadership, we strengthen decision-making, drive innovation and build a more resilient business.

Because for us, making mortgages happen means supporting our people to thrive.

Our 2026 initiatives:

In 2026, we’re enhancing colleague experience through improved rewards and benefits, while bringing people together through initiatives like Endure 24, Snowdon and the Sleepout. Alongside mentoring, ‘3 for Me’ and partnerships with Hanson Beck and Clever Nelly, we’re supporting wellbeing, development and a more inclusive workplace.

Customers & Communities

Caring for Customers, Committed to Communities

We’re committed to making a meaningful difference for our customers and communities.

We aim to ensure our support and solutions genuinely meet our customers' needs by assessing the social impact of our lending. Together, these actions help us build a more inclusive and socially sustainable future.

Because for us, making mortgages happen means caring for the communities we serve.

Our 2026 initiatives:

In 2026, we’re continuing our partnership with Centrepoint while supporting colleagues through DIFF workshops and volunteering opportunities. Alongside our commitment to the MIMHC charter and initiatives like Walk and Talk, we’re encouraging open conversations around wellbeing and driving fundraising efforts to support the communities we serve.

What we achieved in 2025
